Quote:Released in 1994, Heather Nova's 2nd album is the most overlooked masterpiece of the 90s and in my top 5 albums. Most known song here "Walk This World" and it also may be the most accessible as well, the rest of the record is slightly darker. Tracks like "Island" sound like Sarah McLachlan as if it received a more intense makeover from Patti Smith. "Sugar" starts out slow and melodic and two minutes in kicks into an almost mosh pit of agony. There are at least 7 great rockers included here but there are also sensitive ballads like "Walking Higher" and love songs like "Doubled Up." Other highlights are the raw energy of "Blue Black" and the atmospheric "Throwing Fire At The Sun." At a running time of 57 minutes, it is one of the most satisfying records of its decade in my book, every track is a gem. A work of poetic genius from an artist extraordinaire.
